We're excited to announce EarnIt version 1.3.0! This update brings the most-requested feature — dark mode — along with offline awareness and improved payment workflows. Whether you're logging chores at bedtime or checking balances on the go, EarnIt now adapts to your preferences and keeps you informed.

🌙 Dark Mode

Late-night allowance logging sessions just got easier on your eyes. EarnIt now supports dark mode across the entire app:

  • System-aware: By default, EarnIt follows your device's light/dark setting. Switch your phone to dark mode, and EarnIt follows automatically.
  • Manual toggle: Prefer to control it yourself? Head to Settings and choose your theme — Light, Dark, or System.
  • Complete coverage: Every screen, modal, and card has been styled for dark mode, ensuring a consistent experience throughout the app.

Dark mode isn't just about aesthetics — it can reduce eye strain, save battery on OLED screens, and make the app more comfortable to use in low-light environments. Perfect for those quick balance checks before bed!

📡 Offline Awareness

Lost your signal at the park? EarnIt now lets you know when you're offline with a simple banner at the top of the screen:

  • Clear indicator: An orange banner appears when your device loses connectivity, so you know why things aren't updating.
  • Auto-dismiss: Once you're back online, the banner disappears automatically.
  • Dismissible: Don't need the reminder? Tap the X to hide it until your connection changes.

No more confusion about whether the app is frozen or your internet is down. EarnIt keeps you informed so you know what's happening.

💸 Log Payments Directly

We've added a new "Log Payment" feature that makes it easier to record when you've paid out allowance to your kids:

  • Quick access: Tap "Log Payment" from the dashboard or kid details page.
  • Step-by-step: Select the kid, choose which balance to pay from (Wallet, Savings, etc.), and enter the amount.
  • Edit and delete: Made a mistake? You can now edit or delete payments directly from the kid's detail page.

🔄 Cancel Buttons on Pipelines

Multi-step forms like "Log Earning" and "Log Payment" now include proper cancel buttons. No more getting stuck mid-flow — just tap Cancel to back out and start fresh.
