Chores just got a whole lot more fun. EarnIt 1.6.0 turns everyday jobs into a game kids actually want to play — with celebrations, collectible badges, levels, and a buddy that grows as they earn. Same money lessons, way more motivation.

🎉 A celebration every time

The moment a child finishes a chore, they're greeted with a fun animated celebration — a satisfying little "you did it!" that makes completing jobs feel rewarding. When a job is paid out instantly, kids see exactly how much they earned; when it needs a parent's approval, they get a friendly "sent to your parents!" confirmation.

🏅 Badges to collect

The kids' dashboard now has a badge shelf showing the full collection — earned badges in full colour, locked ones waiting to be unlocked, and a "Next up" highlight showing the closest badge and how far there is to go. Kids earn badges for streaks, total earnings, and simply showing up consistently. Seeing what's *almost* unlocked is a powerful nudge to do one more chore.

⭐ Levels & XP

Every chore, active day, and streak now builds XP and levels kids up through fun ranks — from Rookie to Helper, Star, Champion, and ultimately Legend. Their avatar sits inside a level-progress ring on the dashboard, so progress is always front and centre. It's one number that only ever goes up — a steady sense of "I'm getting better at this."

🐣 Meet your buddy

Our favourite new feature: a collectible buddy that hatches and grows as your child levels up. It starts as a mystery egg and evolves all the way to a majestic companion the more consistently they complete chores. It's the perfect reason to come back each day — and a gentle, money-free motivator that works for younger kids especially.

❄️ Forgiving streaks

We heard you: losing a long streak over one busy day was discouraging. Streaks now include a "streak freeze" that bridges a single missed day, with more leeway the longer the streak. Kids stay motivated instead of feeling like one slip ruined everything.

🧑‍🎨 New profile avatars

Kids (and parents) can now pick a profile avatar from 45 fun presets — faces, people, and animals — right alongside the option to take or upload a photo. It's a quick, private, no-upload way to personalize each family member's account.

🔧 Fixes & polish

  • More reliable email verification: verification links now open reliably from any device or email app — including desktop — so new accounts get up and running without a hitch.
  • Smoother job submissions: after submitting a job, kids stay on the My Jobs tab, and previously selected jobs no longer stay checked the next time.
  • Dark mode polish: the password-reset and profile-picture screens are now properly dark-themed.

Version 1.6.0 is rolling out on the App Store and Google Play. If you use the web app, you'll see these changes automatically the next time you visit.
