The chore loop had a missing step. Kids work through their lists, submit what's done, you approve — and then the money just sits there until somebody remembers to ask about it at dinner. EarnIt 2.3 closes the loop: now kids can ask to cash out, right from their own app.
🙋 Ask to cash out
From their My Money screen, a kid picks an amount — up to what they've actually got — says what it's for ("new skateboard…"), and sends the request. You get a notification, see it on your dashboard, and approve or decline in one tap. Approve it, and the payment is logged and their balance updates instantly, exactly as if you'd recorded it yourself. Decline it, and you can say why.
It's a small thing that changes the feel of the whole app: the money stops being numbers a parent controls and starts being theirs to ask for — with you still holding the final yes. Works in money mode and points mode alike, and both sides get notified in their own language. (Premium — it rides on kid logins.)
💹 The graph now leads with earnings
The balance graph on Kid Details introduced in 2.2 has grown up and gotten a new name: Earnings and Balance. It now opens on an earned-per-week (or per-month) bar view — because "did they actually do anything lately?" is the question you arrive with — and the classic balance-over-time line is one tap away. Colors are colorblind-friendly, and it speaks points as fluently as dollars. (Premium)
✨ A sharper look, everywhere
2.3 finishes a design pass that's been rolling out for weeks: real depth on cards, sheets and pop-ups (in the kid app too), clearer contrast throughout, gentle tap feedback on every control, and chore cards that fit on one line with delete safely tucked into the edit screen instead of one mis-tap away. Even the launch screen got some love — our smiling money-bag mascot now greets you instead of a plain green flash.
🔧 Fixes & polish
- One word, everywhere: they're chores now — the app, the stores and this site all finally agree.
- Translations: another sweep localized leftover English strings and error messages in all five languages.
- Steadier under bad networks: the app no longer reloads into an outage, and kid login recovers from a failed launch instead of going blank.
- New families: first-time visitors now land on Create Account instead of Sign In.
Update now
Version 2.3 is rolling out on the App Store and Google Play. Payout requests appear automatically for Premium families with kid logins — there's nothing to set up.
"Earning money kids can't ask for isn't earning — it's an IOU. 2.3 gives kids the ask and keeps parents the answer. That's the whole lesson in one button."
