Terms of Use

Welcome to EarnIt. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the EarnIt mobile application (the "App") operated by EarnIt ("we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create a parent account. Child accounts are created and managed by parents or legal guardians. By creating an account, you represent that you meet these requirements and have the legal authority to agree to these Terms on behalf of yourself and any minor children you add to the App.

2. Account Terms

2.1 Account Creation

To use the App, you must create an account and provide accurate, complete information. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
  • All activity that occurs under your account
  • Keeping your account information up to date
  • Managing child accounts and PIN codes within your family

2.2 Account Types

The App supports the following account types:

  • Parent accounts: Full access to family management, chore creation, payment tracking, and settings.
  • Child accounts: Limited access via PIN code to view assigned chores, earnings, and savings goals. Child accounts are created and supervised by parent accounts.

2.3 Account Security

You must notify us immediately if you become aware of any unauthorized access to your account. We are not liable for losses arising from unauthorized use of your account where you have failed to maintain the security of your credentials.

3. Service Description

EarnIt is a family allowance and chore management tool. The App allows parents to:

  • Create and assign chores with dollar amounts
  • Track chore completion and approve payments
  • Manage earnings split across Savings, Wallet, and Charity categories
  • Set and track savings goals for children
  • View analytics and payment history

Important: EarnIt is a tracking and organizational tool only. The App does not process, hold, or transfer actual money. All real-world payments between parents and children are handled outside of the App. Dollar amounts shown in the App represent tracked allowances, not actual bank balances or financial accounts.

4. Subscription & Billing

4.1 Free Tier

The App offers a free tier that includes core functionality with limitations (up to 2 children and 1 parent account). The free tier may be modified at our discretion.

4.2 Premium Subscription

Premium features are available through a paid annual subscription ("Premium"). Current Premium pricing is $25 per year and includes:

  • Up to 10 children per family
  • Up to 2 parent accounts
  • Kid PIN logins
  • Push notifications
  • All future Premium features

4.3 Payment & Renewal

  • Payment is processed through the applicable app store (Apple App Store or Google Play Store).
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
  • Renewal is charged to your app store account.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription through your app store account settings.

4.4 Refunds

Refund requests are handled according to the refund policies of the applicable app store. We do not directly process refunds for app store purchases. If you experience billing issues, please contact the app store or reach out to us at support@earnit-app.com for assistance.

4.5 Price Changes

We reserve the right to change subscription pricing. Any price changes will take effect at the start of the next billing cycle following notice. Your continued use of Premium after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the App only for its intended purpose of family allowance and chore management. You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any laws
  • Create accounts using false or misleading information
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or our systems
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Use the App to store or transmit harmful, offensive, or illegal content
  • Use automated means to access or interact with the App (bots, scrapers, etc.)
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the App
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the App or its content

6. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, content, logos, and trademarks, is owned by EarnIt and is protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial, family use in accordance with these Terms.

You retain ownership of any content you create within the App (chore descriptions, family data, etc.), but you grant us a limited license to use this data to provide and improve our services.

7. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using the App, you consent to the practices described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:

  • The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
  • Any defects will be corrected
  • The App will meet your specific requirements

EarnIt is a tracking tool and does not provide financial, legal, or parenting advice. You are solely responsible for the financial arrangements within your family.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, EarnIt and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the App.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from or relating to these Terms or the App shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

10.1 Termination by You

You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time through the App settings or by contacting us at support@earnit-app.com. If you have an active Premium subscription, please cancel it through your app store account settings before deleting your account.

10.2 Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your account at our sole discretion if:

  • You violate these Terms or our Acceptable Use policy
  • Your use of the App poses a security risk to us or other users
  • We are required to do so by law
  • We discontinue the App (with reasonable notice)

10.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. We may delete your account data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive (including Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, and Governing Law).

11. Modifications to the Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of material changes. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the App.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the App or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when these Terms were last revised. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the App shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of competent jurisdiction.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms will otherwise remain in full force and effect.

15. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and EarnIt regarding your use of the App and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
